How can you treat cardiomegaly presenting with water retention, pitting edema, and dyspnea?

This is congestive heart failure and can be treated with a variety of drugs including diuretics, vasodilators and inotropes. The important thing is to determine the cause before treatment can be fully effective. Your doctor would need to determine if there is a heart attack, abnormal heart valves, hypertension or weakening of the heart due to infections of toxins. Heart failure is a serious problem and should always be fully evaluated by a physician.

diuretics are the best way, they make you excrete all that extra fluid as urine.
