Is it possible that panic attack happens almost everyday?

Not only I have a problem of anxiety (mild), but also born with CHD (TOF), lately i often feel bad at breathing (Dyspnea), it happens almost everyday... which bothers me a lot, i took many kinds of peels which are Xanax, Lasix, Ismo and Tenormin...but don't see any progress. I can't tell my symptoms from one another. The "attack" frequency is pretty high, cardiologist said all my tests are o.k. to someone who had total correction operation at early age like me. I took Xanax but it works not very well either. What can i do?

I don't smoke, drink and seldom stay up. I keep my life as simple as possible.

Hi, sorry to hear you are feeling bad. The following steps should eliminate (or at least significantly reduce) your panic attacks and grenal anxiety without meds:

1.Breathe properly - if you control your breathing, you control panic. As soon as you notice the signs of anxiety, check your breathing: breathe in slowly through your nose pushing your tummy out (to the count of 5 or so). Breathe out slowly and for a bit longer (to the count of 7 or so) through your mouth. Do not breathe rapidly or shallowly (in the chest area). This will soon restore the balance of oxygen and you will feel a lot better.

2. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy! CBT is proven to be the most effective thing for panic attacks, OCD and anxiety etc. It takes a bit of work, but it is super effective. (After 15 years of panic attacks, mine stopped completely). You can speak to your doctor about taking a course or you can take a course for free online at: www.livinglifetothefull.com

3. Try relaxation exercise tapes (progressive muscular relaxation). They really help if you practise often enough. You can get free downloads in you put "progressive muscle relaxation" into Google (e.g. lots of universities have them as free downloads)

With each step practise makes perfect. (i.e. practise the steps every day, not just when you are feeling bad). I hope you feel better soon. Best of luck!

It could be your meds are not the right fit for you.Always get a second opinion from a dr. and explain that the meds arent working. You might need to try a different kind.

I used to take Trazadone for my anxiety attacks and i had the same symptoms, hard of breathing and such. it helped me :-D

i used to have several a day or even one that lasted most of the day....so yes it does happen...i tried all the drugs that you listed but the one that worked for me was clonozapam, have you ever tried that one? it may be worth discussing with your doctor

You have a very complex set of problems and your meds aren't all anti-anxiety. You may need a referral to a specialist for relief.

Panic attacks are awful, I hope you get relief.

I THINK YOU NEED TO LAY OF THE COFFEE AND MOUNTAIN DEW MIX!!!
