Coughing, Wheezing, Lungs feel tight middle of the night? |
I'm a 28 year old male diagnosed with Lone AF about a year ago. When they came with the diagnosis, the EP's performed several tests including CT, EKG, and an Echocardiogram. They determined I had a normal heart but had Vagally Mediated Paroxysmal Lone AF. My question is, on a few occasions, 3 this past couple months that I can remember and a couple times years back, I have experienced issues where I wake up in the middle of the night coughing. When I try to breath I can hear my self wheezing and it feels like my lungs are tight and after sitting up and walking around for a bit it goes away. I've read about Paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea and it sounds similar but does that mean I could be suffering serious heart failure? And if so, could that have come about so quickly since its been a year since my tests were normal? Does PND happen every night or infrequently like in my case? should I be concerned and see my Cardiac electrophysiologist sooner than Jan 29? I have no other symptoms.. That happened to me when I was sick for a week . I woke up it was 3:00 AM when i swallowed i had a painful sharp feelng in my chest. Or when i Breathed sometimes when i started walking or was twisting around it helped. I woke up again 7:30 AM didnt want to get up. the pain wasnt as bad. At 9:30 I just got up for good I felt better the pain isnt there anymore but im still sick. |
