I don't know about everybody else, but apple juice actually GIVES me heartburn!

I know a few pretty good non-drug cures for acid reflux:

1) Take a digestive enzyme tablet with each meal. Lots of indigestion is just a consequence of lower enzyme levels as we age.
2) If you get acid reflux, chew a couple of wintergreen Tums. (The wintergreen settles your stomach, the calcium carbonate [same as chalk] neutralizes acid without causing a rebound effect.) Then slowly sip 4 ounces of whole milk and nibble a piece of bread over the course of 10-15 minutes. This coats your esophagus and relieves the pain.
3) If you suffer from chronic acid reflux, put a pair of 4" high blocks under the bedposts at the head of your bed. That small amount of tilt cures most chronic night-time reflux.

May be, I am not sure. But it is very good for health, when ate with the skin.

Baking soda mixed in water, its great for treating acid reflux and heartburn.

Pineapple or papaya juice will work better. They have enzymes to break down the food.

You can also get them in pill form--look for Bromelein (pineapple) or papein (papaya)
