A good firend of mine has what I beleive is Dyspareunia/Endometriosis. Every time she sees a doctor he/she will tell here that there is nothing wrong with here, but she says sex is so pain full and she can not even imagine having one any more. Any info on a tretment of painfull sex is appreciated.
Thanks Treatment depends on what type of dyspareunia she is experiencing, deep seated or superficial... Does she experience vaginal dryness?
Endometriosis can not be identified on an ultrasound or blood tests, the only way to accurately diagnose this is via a Laparoscopy. Endometriosis could definatley be causing her pain, this is usually treated by hormone injections every 3 months, or a Laparoscopy with Cautery to endometriosis. (Day Surgery) Depends on the severity of endometriosis.
Tell her to pick up some "KY Warming Gel" Make sure she gets the warming stuff, and use it during intercourse, we recommend that to a lot of our patients, and it helps tremendously.
Any good gynaecologist would be able to help her with these issues, (Have your GP refer if necessary)

I know because I have been there before because I suffer from Endo. I have been dealing w/ this illness since high school, but wasn't formally told what it was until 6 years ago this July. The best thing for your friend to do is keep searching for a doctor and not giving up until she finds one who is really going to help. That's what I had to do and I am glad I waited. The doctor I see is awesome.
