Dysmenorrhea vomiting and pain - HELP? |
Everytime my cycle comes around I suffer through violent cramps, nausea, loose bowels, fatigue, and vomiting. (Just about every symptom with primary dysmenorrhea). My poor girl, I understand completely. Would you be able to see a herbalist? If one is not available where you live or if you can't afford it, here is my 'cure'. get rid of the tampon...toxic shock syndrome!!! wear pads..tampons can have that effect on a woman...you have the exact symptons that i had when wearing tampons. for the severe cramps that i have , i go on Alieve at the first sign of "starting". I keep myself Alieved -up for the first couple of days and i'm good to go. i hope that this is something that you haven't thought of before and can help to end your misery. Your age? If you are 40 ^ it might be you have the great Peri menopausal syndrome which lasts for years. I hate to tell you this but I suffered terribly from it. I always said I had 2 wks out of each month where I was human. Then I went from that to menopause which is no period but hot flashes and headaches, migraines, insomnia and everything else. I don't have a clue but I'd love to know. all Dr.'s treat me like I'm mental and I think I really am. Sorry I can't help you sister. Good luck though. I've been in EXACTLY the same situation as you. I had every symptom you mention, plus fainting (because the pain was so unbearable). I'll tell you what happened with me and maybe you can get some help from my experience. On several occasions, I had to be taken to a hospital emergency room when I was having the symptoms, and they'd give me an injection of Demerol. I felt like that was a miracle cure because the pain always went away almost immediately after the injection - but Demerol is a narcotic so it can be addictive. Luckily, I found a gynecologist who decided to try to find the cause of my severe pain rather than just trying to mask it when it occurred. I had to go through a minor surgical procedure (laparoscopy) to find out that I had endometriosis. After the surgery, I was given the choice of being treated with either oral contraceptives or injections of Depo-Provera every three months. I chose the Depo-Provera injections. There are possible side effects to the injections (as there are with any medications), but in my case, I feel that the side effects are really minor compared to what I was going through with my periods every month. |
