Pelvic pain when not on period, diagnosed with sever dysmenorrhea.?

I get so sick on my periods. Extreme diarrhea all day on the first day along with hours of puking/dry heaves, and I'd sweat so much it would drip off of me and yet be freezing. The pain was so bad I'd black out a few times in one day. I've also passed out a few times and woke up hours later.

I'm only seventeen and I've been getting my period since I was about 9-10. These periods (with sever cramping) didn't begin until about 2 yrs ago.

They diagnosed me with sever dysmenorrhea & put me on Yaz and gave my a prescription vicodin.

Well, it's been nearly a year & the pill has stopped it from being so terrible but I still get the diarrhea and cramps bad enough the vicodin does nothing for them.
Also, I've been experiencing pelvic pain when I'm not on my period. It hurts to pee, to sit down & to reach up. What could this be? Any ideas? Is this normal?

No, that's not normal. I'm sorry you're going through this. You need to seek a second opinion. At the very least, another doctor could put you on a continuous birth control, so you don't get any periods at all, and you can be spared some of these problems. But this pelvic pain is particularly worrisome. It sounds like vulvodynia (which basically means pain in the genital area). But it could be an infection, or pelvic inflammatory disease, or cysts, and the doctors you've already seen may have missed something. There's no way you should have to be going through all this pain. There ARE solutions. For your second opinion, get a gynecologist at a hospital, preferably one connected to a medical school (a "teaching hospital"). Take care!

you could have endometriosis
