Was diagnosed with Dysmenorrhea at 17 and was put on the patch???

I got off the patch almost a year ago because I never went to get my prescription renewed. Now I hear all this stuff about women who use or have used the patch having heart problems and blood clots. I am going to the doc later this month, and they spoke of getting me back on the patch, but I am scared to get back on it. Should I try it again or try the ring or some other method? (I can't swallow pills, so the pill is out of the question.)

Dysmennorhea is painful cramps and other symptoms, by the way.

Nuvaring then would seem a logical choice

I am happy to answer any questions you have about it

Also, have your cramps returned to what they were before the patch or do the seem less severe most cycles now?

Trying going onto www.webmd.com and look up oral contraceptives. But, there are risks to any form of contraceptive. There are lots of options though. From IUD to Depo injection to NuvaRing. But do research. Build a wealth of knowledge and when you go to your doctor be prepared to know what to ask. Good luck!!!
