Painfull, horrible periods... Sickness...? |
I'm 20 years old, started my periods aged 12 and they did become regular. But about 2 1/2 years ago they changed. I will go see a doctor/gynaecologist but for now, I wanted to ask online to just get some opinions from other people first: People who have got the same thing. You mention that it only happens on odd months. Your ovaries take turns ovulating so one month you're pain free but the next you're in horrible pain. You need a doctor to look at the side that hurts and probably have an ultra sound of your ovaries. It's probably an ovarian cyst and usually they pose no problems but in this case it is obviously changing your life every other month. See your doctor asap!! Usually, if you're worried about something, (pain, odd symptoms, etc.) you'd be better off going to see your doctor - in this case, a gynaecologist - than posting questions online WITHOUT going to the doctor. S/he can give you better painkillers, something for the nausea, and so forth. All you'll get online is potential info (and a lot of rubbish) but no physical help. You are most likely right. It may be Dysmenorrhea. I went through the same thing in my late teens and early twenties. It was so bad that when I knew I was about to start, I wouldn't eat or drink next to nothing because I knew I would have issues once it started. You get this icky taste in your mouth. your nauseous, you hope that child birth isn't nearly as bad as what your going through right at the moment. A truly horrible experience it is. I went through it for almost two years. My bout with the disorder went away after I started being active in school sports. It also helped that our family doctor prescribed 800mg Ibuprofen and some iron pills cause I was totally anemic... Check with a doc first before you take that stuff. Some people are seriously immune to it. They may prescribe something else. I used a heating pad for the cramps and set up 6 pillows on the bed so i was cradled. It took the edge off the back cramps so I could relax somewhat. I know its the most horrid thing ever. My heart goes out to you doll. Hope you get better. If you're concern about pain. There is numbers symothoms you might have in your body system. If I were you goes see your doctor. |
