Anyone know a gynecologist in St. Louis area performing Uplift??

I have a retroverted uterus, which is quite uncomfortable as you can imagine, especially where tampons and intercourse are concerned. The dysmenorrhea problem has been primarily relieved by the pill, but, well, intercourse is really just painful! My current gyno has suggested a Gillian Suspension, but I really am not interested in having a huge scar across my abdomen, not to mention the long recovery time. However, I do want this corrected. The Uplift procedure can do the same suspension but using laproscopy. It's generally an outpatient surgery. My doc doesn't do this, but I would like some help in finding someone in my area who does. So please if you know of someone, please let me know ASAP. Thanks!

I would recommend checking with a urogynecologist. These are gynecologists that specialize in correcting problems with the pelvic floor and issues like this.

A good site you can check to find out about some in that area and see how they are rated is at: http://www.RateMDs.com.

Another good site that can be of help is the Physician Finder at: http://www.ama-assn.org and also at: http://www.acog.org
