Homework question?

Ann is a healthy 26 year old white female. Since the beginning of this current golf season, she has noted increased shortness of breath and low energy levels. These symptoms seem worse during her menses. Today while playing poorly in a golf tournament at a high, mountainous course, she became light-headed and was taken by her golf partner to the emergency care clinic. Her temperature was normal, heart rate and pulse elevated and blood pressure low. She reported menorrhagia and dysmenorrhea for the past 10 to 12 years for which she has been taking 1000 mg. of aspirin every 4 hours for 6 days during menstruation. She also takes aspirin for "stiff joints" when playing golf. Lab work was as follows:
Hematocrit: 32%; Hemoglobin: 8 grams; RBCs: 3.1; RBC smear: microcytic and hypochromic cells; Reticulocyte count: 1.5%; Other labs normal.

Review lab work and patient's history and interpret all lab work. What type of anemia does she most likely have? What clinical signs indicate that her body is attempting to compensate for her anemia? How would this be treated?

Iron deficiency anemia.
The H/H is low which indicates anemia.
Hypochromic, microcytic indicates iron deficiency.
Treatment is iron supplements.

I think she probably has dietary anemia which is mostly cured with iron supplements.
