Dyslexia test?

My teacher told me he thinks I have comprehension dyselxia. I am very smart. I have a 94 average. However, when reading, I need to read books 2-3 times to understand them. I am a slow reader. I also interpret directions differently on tests contstantly. Also, when doing billing for student government [he is also the advisor of that], I had one of those calculators that print out the receipt. Well after I typed in all the numbers, he was looking at it and all my numbers were all mixed up and whenever it said to add, i subtracted, and vice versa. I want to see if he is right. I am a good speller, and I am aware there are different types of dyslexia. How do I get tested? At my regular doctor? What does the test deal with?

Ask your doctor, or a counselor to get tested. It couldn't hurt because If you are dyslexic, then you can get help.

I'm not familiar with this type of screening but I believe you start with your primary care provider who can refer you to the appropriate facility or individual.

Go speak with your guidance counselor at school, he should set you up with the school psychologist to get you tested or have your parents speak to them.

I believe you might have to see a specialist. Try talking to your eye doctor about suggestions. Dyslexia runs in my family and I believe I have a very mild case of it, but I have never been tested for it. My guess is either your doctor or your eye doctor would know more about it.
