How to help adult dyslexia?

Hi there,

I have mild dyslexia and I would like to try an improve my mental function.

Does any one know of places that can help or exercises that I can do.

One clinic gave me a lot of information but charged $5000.00 and I can't afford to pay that.

Hi
I suffered or should I say suffer from quite a severe form of dyslexia all my life, you should see this before the spell checker does its magic.
Now let me tell you that it does not matter one jot, do you know that dyslexic,s have a higher than average I.Q, . The trouble is that dyslexia makes logic easy and language is anything but logical, how can you have one word pronounced two different ways ,meaning two different things, but it is spelled the same?.
Now when I was at school I was coincided stupid, thick, a child with no future at all because I had difficulty with the written word, wrong! I actually have an I.Q of126 earn over $110,000 a year and program the biggest industrial robots you ever saw, and why, because its all based on logic, and that's what all dyslexics have, the ability to be logical.
Don't waste you money, work to your strengths, find math easy, if you have it, math is easy, logic at work.
Honestly, don't let anyone tell you you have a problem, you don't, the real world is math based, and if someone thinks you are stupid because you miss spell or put a comer in the wrong place it is they who have the problem and not you, two hundred years ago the way English was spelled and written was completely different to the way it is today, 2 plus 2 equaled 4 then, it still does today, and will do in another two hundred years.

Hi. If you are in the Oakville, Ontario area, the below links are what you want. One of my best friends (he's 50) is dyslexic, and Cathy helped him immensely. She's also assisted his 5 year old grandson.

If you're in Ontario, she's the best, hands down.

My friend needs a picture to understand a word, so his exercise is to model clay into objects that he can remember. Words like:
am
it
is
was
saw

Each word has a model of clay to help him remember how to use that word. It's difficult to do, but well worth it. He's still stuck on "if".

If you mention to Cathy that payment is an issues, she might be flexible with you ;)
