Could this mean Dyslexia?

It was kind of wierd, reading the list of symptoms as I realised I shared many of them. For example, short term memory seems to elude me, yet long term I can remember things crystal clear. (Photographic, go figure.) Sometimes I write sloppily, sometimes I dont. The same goes for spelling. When im stressed or scared, I tend to stutter. I hate math, am good with english, very artistic and I always want to create things. Everyone seems to think im very smart, though my thoughts on that differ, and my teachers say I have a "World View" which apparently means I can view things from many perspectives. I dont have the inverted vision problem (Though I do have a stigmatism and bad vision which is worse in my right eye than it is in my left.) I failed one class last year- tenth grade. Homework just... I dunno. Also I tend to draw or make airplanes or just daydream while a teacher is talking; they thought I had ADD. Very disorganised as well. Could this be Dyslexia?

I don't think so. Sounds more like ADD or ADHD perhaps. Maybe something entirely different. Where did you get the list of symptoms from? I've never heard of all that being associated with Dyslexia.

NOUN:

A learning disorder marked by impairment of the ability to recognize and comprehend written words.

There is nothing that you have said that would indicate dyslexia. There is a difference between a symptom and something that may co-occur. I believe the list that you are referring to is probably a list of things that may co-occur with dyslexia. If you are reading a list that says those are the symptoms, I would evaluate the source of the list. You can not believe everything you read.

No.
Dyslexia has to do with mixing up letters and numbers for example mixing up 6 with 9 or b with d. then with this problem you have horrible spelling errors. trust me, my friend has Dyslexia.

I am dyslexic, and from what you said it sounds like its worth getting tested for. Dyslexia effects everyone differently, but it's a mix of good and bad points: being disorganized, poor attention Span and of course the obvious sloppy writing and spelling are all classic bad effects, and creativity and lateral thinking good effects. However their are other learning difficulties which also can show those symptoms, dyspraxia (spatial awareness) for instance. Whatever it is, if you get a test done, they will measure your abilities in all areas and should be able to give you a good idea of whats going on.
