What type of dr can diagnosis dyslexia in an adult and?

if found to be dyslexic, is that considered a disability (NJ/USA)

I used to volunteer with an adult literacy group, and we used a reading specialist (Ph.D., not M.D.) to evaluate dyslexia. To find one, check with the Education department at a college/university in your area. It's possible that a neurologist (M.D.) could do it, too. It wouldn't be an eye doctor.
Don't know about the disability question.
