Dyslexia question?

How do you know if you have it?

Is it when your words get switched? say I meant fab tab but said fab fab.

But sometimes my words get mixed up. Once I said I had nose in my water and I meant I have water in my nose.

It funny but in a way its not.

Thank you to the last person!

That makes sense! i think my brain was working faster then my mouth was. Because I said it the first time and even said it again because I knew it didn't sound right but I said the same thing.

From a person who's dyslexic and with two children who are also dyslexic, no getting your words mixed up is not a sign of dyslexia. What I think happens to you is that your mind is working faster than your mouth and you speak before you have the time to place the words in the right order. A dyslexic will usually mixed up words in sentence or letter's with in a word but this is done when the person is writing not speaking. My children and I speak very well which is why my youngest is allowed to dictate her answers on test instead of writing them.
Dyslexia does not come out in the speech patterns of people with the condition.

Dyslexia doesn't affect your speech, it affects your ability to read and write. Judging by the fact that your words are ok, I'd venture to say you're not dyslexic.

i always say stuff like that...like i always leave my phone in my car and i always am saying....i left my car in my phone....it is funny...dyslexia is more common when you mess things and words up when your writing numbers or letter...people w/ dyslexia use pictures normally so its hard for them to use numbers or letters...but reading and writing is where dyslexia comes in, not really speaking.

YEAH what they said. if you were to read this answer, it would seem to be all jumbled and mixed up.sadh adfkhsdfhldsfjg

dyslexia is a multi-perseption disorder. I got tested and was told that i am mild to moderate. my gf got tested and was told she is moderate to severe. i see, hear and speak dyslexic when i'm tired. i learned just to laugh at it because there is nothing that can be done. as long as i am aware of it, it isn't a problem. (i use spell checker ALOT). the one thing that i do like about being dyslexic is that i can also read upside down and backwards

don't worry... that switching of words happens to lots of ppl, including me...but it's not dyslexia unless it also happens when you're reading or working with numbers :)

Like Yoda dyslexia sounds, only in text.

You know you have it if you notice that you have trouble writing and reading.
