Which drug should I choose to treat a child present with repititive facial moments after taking metoclopramide

What is the immediate management plan at GP to treat a child with dyskinesia and occulogyric crisis..after Metoclopramide treatment?

Is the choice of Artane suitable?

Extra pyramidal dysfunction (EPD) after metoclopramide is rare but it certainly occurs as you know too well. As EPD has much in common with Parkinson's those drug are typically used. I have used trihexiphenidyl (Artane) for this but not in the past 5 years as newer drugs simply work better and are better tolerated. Type in Parkinson's click Search and then seek out treatment options and you shall have your answer.

You might want to consult an actual doctor and not an answers forum.

You came HERE for that answer? You have to call the child's pediatric specialist.

No one here can answer that because even a doctor would need the child's medical records, scans, blood work, etc.

Treat with diphenhydramine (Benadryl).

Stop the drug--put the child on diazepam on a dose that the age requires for three days--the child should be fine
