Down syndrome test?

Who should have a test done to check if a woman's child will have down syndrome???? please help!!! its for a school project!

should the pregnant woman, her mother, or grand mother take the test.

Well the woman that is caring the child should get tested. There are only two reason why you would get tested 1.) to educate yourself or 2.) prepare yourself to abort the baby. Most people think that a women giving birth to a baby with downs are mostly in their 40s, which is not true. I was 28 and had twin girls. One was what you call " typical" and the other was born with Mosaic Down syndrome. I however opted not to have the test done. I also had many level 2 ultrasounds done because I was caring twins, and they didn't see that she had it on that. The sad thing is, many OBGYN only tell you the worst things about Down syndrome. They forget to tell you that the baby will give you so much love. They will run and play like the other kids. They could even go into a normal classroom setting, some with help of an aide. Good luck on your project!

The pregnant woman, of course!

the foetus is what is tested or the amniotic fluid around it. this is in the mother.
the tests they can do are ultra sounds, amniocentesis and CVS.
