There are about 4 times as many male victims of domestic violence. Why, then, won't the government give them any help?

because the government always See's the male as the suspect and not the victim , i guess the male has a better fighting chance or something

There are always extreme knee-jerk reactions to issues- one of which was swinging the pendulum back to men having fewer rights than women- that men are abusers and women are not...the issue of violence towards men is a serious one which needs to be addressed- legislation should remove all references to gender and gear it towards "persons".

Where are you getting statistics like this?

"Battered men: almost 40% of domestic violence victims each year."

I know some men are victims and deserve help, but don't change the facts.

The government does not discrimate against male victims of domestic violence (I am a former DV counselor). The problem is that most men don't REPORT that they've been abused. If no one knows - how can they help? The only time they report it is in anonymous surveys.

Although, I think the 4x as many is a bit skewed. What are your sources?

this is crap i've spent the night in jail 2 times because of supposed abuse of my boyfriends never mind that i had bruses and scratches also, or that perhaps i was defending myself, they just take who ever away regardless of who started what and i dont think the government should be involved in domistic issues of any kind.
