Can i get help for domestic violence due to alcohol addition in p.g.md.?

When i drink i change. Recently i hit my live in girlfriend and bloodied her nose. I lost her but she said if i get help maybe we can get back together. Problem is money is tight. If anyone know an inexpensive way for me to get help in southern p.g. md. please let me know. I know about aa but need to talk to a professional but cant afford one. Please help me im desperate.

Fisrt I would like to say congrats for wanting to change and making an effort to do so! You are already making progress =)
Get on the internet and see if there are any support groups or anger manangement groups available in your area. Usually support groups are free. If you attend AA, ask the other people there about where to find inexpensive help. I'm confident that many others in AA have similar problems and may not have much money either. You can also call your local crisis center or 1-800-273-TALK for resources. Also, is there a college/university in your area? If so, most colleges have a program where people without insurance can see a counselor for a very low price because it's through their masters program. You do not need to be a student or former student to be eligible for these services, anyone can be seen. Good luck!

stop drinking and see a counsoler

the pjhonebook yellow pages usually have adresses or phonnr. for help. or go to local hospital and sign yourself in.

well if you live in the US...theres Medicade they will help pay for counciling plus drug and alcahol rehab and some places offer domestic violence classes for free which is always a good idea in situations like that even if theres only been one incidentand i know with things like that that they only do any good when you r100% commited to fixing the problem..........hope i've helped

Harleymsu seems close.
In my opinion it would be necessary for you to seek professional help.
Help may be found free of charge at an MHMR institution. There you will receive counseling, medication and emotional support.
You have already accepted that your drunkeness is a severe problem to you and your loved ones and this fact has already placed you on the road to recovery.
If you do secure professional help it may also be necessary to consider anger management courses/sessions/groups at where you may find underlying social and emotional factors that have at up to this point dictated your life's behavior.
Just continue to find a sensible solution and you will succeed. If you are a veteran of the Armed Forces of the U.S. you have a cure for your maladies just for the asking and free of charge. You may also find empathy and assistance from one of your local christian churches. Jose

Look in your phone book and call the county health department. They should be able to give you the number to the county or state mental health agency. If this does not work callthe police department and ask them to get the number. The folks at AA also can provide you with numbers. If you do not do this it will just get worse. So please do this and stick with it. You did not mention if your job has a mental health referal department. Best to you!!
