What can cause vertigo/dizziness?

I am a 22 year old female living in Montana, USA. I don't smoke/drink/use any drugs, and I've got a horrible case of dizziness/vertigo. It has been going on for nearly three days now, almost continuously. I'm also exhausted, and feel like an emotional wreck (which I attribute to the tiredness). I can't get to a doctor tonight, and chances are I won't be able to get in until Tuesday or Wednesday. In the mean time, does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to fix this, or what it could be?

Lucky for you I have the same issue! I went to the doctor and they told me it comes from two things. 1.) you have an ear infection that would require antibiotics or 2.) you are dehydrated (as I am)

So, either visit the doctor as soon as you can or drink a lot of Gatorade and/or water to feel better.

could be a ear infection

check yer symptoms at www.webmd.com

i find the site helpful

Could be anxiety, ear infection, sinuses, etc. Go to the doctor as soon as you can. Good luck to you. Hope you recover soon.

inner ear infection

Could be an inner ear infection. Try some some ear drops. You can get them in the medicinal isle at wal-mart or your local drug store. 9 times outta 10 though you need antibiotics from the doctor.

You might have an inner ear infection. Or you might have high blood pressure, or low blood pressure. Can you get your blood pressure checked somwhere? Don't wait until Tues. or Weds. -- go to an urgent care center, or an emergency room, if the dr won't see you tomorrow. High blood pressure can cause a stroke.

You most likely have viral labyrinthitis. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) may help your symptoms although it will make you drowsy and may make it unsafe to drive or operate machinery. Use as directed.

My mom has lupus, before she was diagnosed she suffered from horrible vertigo. She couldn't stand up from the bed..even is she moved a little she would want to throw up or she would get veyr very scared. She'd say that the whole room was spinning around her and she couldn't focus..it was horrible and scary... the doctors never found out the cause..but they suspected it was due to a Lupus attack to the brain...and it was swollen. Try to rest and don't move too much...you need professional help...my mom was at risk of dying. Good luck!

Sounds like an inner ear infection, you need to get it checked and treated to prevent injury to your eardrum.

One side of your head could be heavier than the other. Cousin It has the same problem, but he is covered with hair and it doesn't show. Try placing a weight on the other side of your head and see if you can walk straight then.
