What could cause me extreme vertigo and dizziness after putting peroxide in my ear?

I had a bad inner ear infection a couple yrs ago after a bad ear infection, now everytime i try to clean my ears with peroxide i get extreme dizziness and have to stop! I am fine as long as i dont put liquid in my ears?

Don't "clean" your ears. Put 3 drops of pure virgin olive oil in the ear, keep it tilted for a minute, plug w/ cotton. Repeat w/ other ear. Best time is right before sleep time. This will keep the ear wax flowing and prevent itchiness that we might interpret as a sign they need cleaning. May even need to use waxy ear plugs when showering, to keep all water out. These are sold in sporting goods stores.

Stop putting liquid in your ears it dosn't belong. It is also more likly that it is the motion of tilting your head to the side and holding it there to put the liquid in and keep it there. You can dislodge the rocks in your ear (otoliths) that your body uses to tell which way is up. When the rocks final settle back to the right position the virtigo goes away.

Okay....a quick fix....don't put liquids in your ears.

the peroxide is causing this problem . so don't do that anymore.
you should not have to clean inside of your ears . you can clean the outside fine but nothing smaller then your elbow should go in your ear.
if for some reason you feel you ear needs to be cleaned on the inside go to the doc.
peroxide is used to clean things kills germs . they put some of that in your ear at the doctors if you have an infection .

the exact cause of getting dizzy when you did that bad thing was because you get your balance from the ear the middle ear mostly but things such as liquid can pass from the outer ear into the inner ear. this is how we get what is called swimmers ear.
to keep water out of your ears the drug stores sell some special ear sealers not plugs more a plastic molded thing that is shaped like the outside of the ear. get some of them and use them when you go in water such as bath or shower.
they thing to put in your ear if you are attempting to clean your ear out is one or two drops of baby oil other thin oil can be used but baby oil is recommended.
