Answer for the following symptoms: Vertigo, Insomnia, slight ear ache and pressure?

I have the following symptoms:
I had vertigo a few days ago with a slight ache and pressure in the ears. It felt as if it were blocked. It's lessened and I no longer feel severe vertigo (dizziness), but I still have a headache (not a migraine though). To make it worse...I'm fighting off insomnia...I can't fall asleep and when I do i wake up half an hour later feeling like i was just on the verge of sleep but can't quite fall into a deep sleep. I went to the doctor, but all he said was..."I'm not sure what you have. You don't have an ear infection. You don't seem like you have a virus. It could be BPPV or something else. Let's wait two weeks and we'll go from there." I've waited a week and it's become a pain in the butt. Has anyone felt this before?

I would still go with an infection in the inner ear, blocked tubes and pressure can cause these symptoms (i have the same problems at times)

sounds like it's time to find a new doctor. sounds like it might be an ear infection.

I often go through the same symptoms, with the same results from the doctor. They never actually diagnosed anything, but after like 2 years with no change, I switched to a new job and the symptons started to lessen. I still feel it every once in a while, but nothing like before. Try keeping your stress levels down, the doctors now believe I was suffering from severe distress in my old job, which manifested itself in some very annoying physical ailments.

Ruleouts include West Nile, Lyme, meningitis, pseudotumor cerebri, CVM, TMJ syndrome, and - if you're younger - impacted wisdom teeth. Sounds like your Dr. needs to take a closer look, or you need another Dr.

My son was having the same problems... it's from stress. His grandma recommended a chiropractor and it has helped. Stress and tension in mussels puts pressure on your spine and neck. The chiropractor does adjustments on his back and neck to relieve the stress and tension

Go to an ENT (Ear Nose & Throat dr.) They can do further tests. It sounds like an ear infection to me.
Anyhow - be careful. You have a dizzy spell while you are working or driving - could not be good.
