What could cause vertigo in an 18 y/o male?

He has been feeling vertigo (not just dizziness) and nausea for three days now and there is very little improvement. He has not hit is head and a doctor confirmed that he has no infections. These are his only symptoms. He is getting a head scan in a few days, but just wondering what anyone thought about this. What could be the cause?

Menieres Disease, low blood pressure, brain tumor, MS....it can be many things. It's usually nothing serious unless you have one or more of these symptoms with it:;

* Severe or "different" headache
* Blurred vision
* Hearing loss
* Speech problems
* Weakness in a leg or arm
* Fainting
* Problems walking
* Numbness or tingling
* Chest pain or changes in heart rate

Really, don't stress over it. It can be anything, and is likely nothing serious, as he's young.

Thats interesting. I will stay to see for the final answer.

18 y/o females?

Some causes are a disorder in the peripheral nervous system (in the inner ear), a disorder in the central nervous system (brain stem, vestibular nerve, cerebellum). The structures responsible for balance is found in the inner ear, any number of problems could cause vertigo, an inner ear infection is the most common cause. But, I am not an audiologist, I just studied it. Good luck with the head scan, and I hope all is well!

Vertigo is caused mostly by sugar intake. Decrease the sugar, decrease the dizziness.
