Head Movement remedy for Vertigo?

I have a friend who is suffering from very bad vertigo. My Daughter said there was a Dr on TV who demonstrated some sort of head moving exercises to cure the dizziness ..... I wondered if anyone could tell more or where to find out more about this treatment

Since nobody has answered yet, I'll toss in my 2 cents.
I haven't heard about these head movements (aside from putting your head down to keep the blood flowing to your brain), but there is an herbal supplements that can help with Vertigo. It's called Vinpocetine and it increases blood flow and oxygen uptake in the cerebrum... that helps with memory, concentration, and dizziness (which is basically what Vertigo is).
However, if it's from an ear problem (like waxy buildup), no head movements or supplements will really help that... you would have to just get the wax or whatever taken care of. I wish you both good luck!

yes the doctor or a physio, I guess, does it....

can't remember whats its called...it moves the crystals that has lodged in the inner ear

yes i suffer from labrinthytis and believe me its aw full, so my g.p sent me to the e.n.t clinic to get the crystals put back. He tipped me upside down and all the time i had to stare into his eyes and not blink, it was weird as i could hear popping sounds he then done the other ear. He asked me to lay down to see if it had gone, to which i noticed it had, but when i turned over in bed that night it was back with a vengeance, that was a year ago and i have learned to live with it. I was fine 4 years ago until i went on a kids trampoline and ended up with this, but in most cases the cure works that they do x

Hi, I suffer from meniere's disease, which means that I have severe attacks of vertigo, imbalance, dizziness and nausea.

I contacted the meniere's society (link below) and they have helped to fund extensive research into addressing these symptoms - vertigo, tinnitus and deafness. They have now produced two booklets, free for members and they may send them to you for a donation, that give advice on diet and exercises that can help with these extremely distressing symptoms. If you contact them, they will give you details.

The exercises you are referring to may be 'Epley's Manoeuvre', and I have attached a link for a site that can demonstrate this.

Best of luck for your friend, I know how horrible this can be.
