Shoulder dislocation??

i dislocated my shoulder in october and again in febuary...i am a wrestler
should i get surgery. i am trying to get back on the mat as soon as possible

Unfortunately this is a down hill situation. Every time you dislocate your shoulder it becomes a little bit loser. Thus, it becomes easier and easier to dislocate. You definitely need strengthening and shoulder stabilizing exercises. Not really weight room stuff, but under the supervision of a Licensed Athletic Trainer or Physical Therapist. It would take approximately 4 months to recover from shoulder surgery. You can cause damage that may be difficult to repair if you repetitively dislocate. Start the exercises and see an Orthopedic Surgeon if you have not already do so...

Depends on the severity I dislocated my same shoulder twice in six months but no surgery I just rested it and took pain meds but you probably ought to see a doctor for a professional opinion

I would suggest that you go through 6-8 weeks of physical therapy to see if strengthening the muscles around your shoulder will help prevent future dislocations. If that fails then you probably are a candidate for surgery. Either way you should see an orthopedic doctor ASAP
