Back Pain & Dislocation of disk & veribra? |
On May 7th I was helping my son's pta group with a breakfast thing and lifted a 30lb tray of food. My back popped & here came the pain. Since then, I have went to a specalist & they did an e-ray and MRI and it reads that my L4 disk is completely gone. And the s1 is starting to degranerate also. To make it worse they also told me that between those to you can see in the pictures that the vertibra is twisted and sitting on the nevre. Should I fight for surgery or should I still do the injections, pain meds & therpy! You should do whatever your doctor recommends. If you are uncertain, get a second opinion. Surgery on your back is serious, so you should not "fight" for it unless it is necessary. Best to treat it conservatively with therapy and injections if that is what is recommended. Beware narcotic use, they are addictive and you can just compound your problems. Get a second opinion and not from yahoo answers. You have to protect your back. Surgery is wonderful if it is needed, but sometimes it doesn't help. I have had two back surgeries! I also had the injections and therapy. The therapy made me worse because my back was in bad shape! You can try it but if it doesn't help or your in more pain stop! Surgery helped me a lot without it I wouldn't be able to walk today! Good luck! |
