Headaches - from jaw dislocation or pregnancy>? |
Ok basically 7 - 8 months ago I dislocated my jaw. (dont ask) But i heard it crack and the next day or so it wouldnt shut properly. eventually it did but ever since the right hand side cant shut without sliding to the side.... There is some need to understand the cause of TMJ and why it can be associated with headaches. sounds like your jaw has developed TMJ and there is a surgery for that and it can cause headaches Both of your ideas are good ones. Hormone fluctuations can bring on headaches early in pregnancy. Jaw problems certainly can as well. Tension too. Practice relaxing your body from head to foot, one part at time while breathing in ten counts through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. If it is your jaw, it is likely that ice to the area 15 minutes on should help. See an oral surgeon or dentist regarding the jaw. There may be other ideas than surgery to get it more comfortable and less annoying. Are you eating regularly? Blood sugar fluctuations and blood pressure can also bring on headaches. I would see your doctor if headaches are new to you or worse suddenly. In the meantime, relax and try some ice packs. Hope you feel better soon. Mayoclinic.com has a symptom checker that can help narrow things down and give you talking points for your doctor, as well as suggestions of treatment. Try it. Good luck and congratulations on your new baby. |
