I have to do a research paper on a natural or man made disaster. I would prefer something like the bird flu or something or perhaps something like the Black Plague.

All well known disasters why you don't do your homework yourself is beyond me.

Hurricane Katrina, Rita. The 1900 storm at Galveston which killed 5000 people and almost wiped out the island. Just to name a few.
