Diet Disaster?


I have been on a ridiculous diet for a month now, and regret doing it. All I have to eat is a bowl of Cheerios, either a egg mayonnaise pasta salad or a Ham salad at dinner and a salad at night consisting of, lettuce, carrotts, cucumber, 1 egg and 2 slices of thin ham.chicken. I dont eat anything else during the day. I also go to the gym at least 3 times a week swimming. Now I am a week late on my period and extremley tired. Do you think this could be the cause, as my period has been regular January and February? and I have never felt this tired! I can hardly keep my eyes open, I go to bed around 10pm and wake at 6.30 which I consider to be normal!

Yes, I do believe that the diet is the culprit. Your body is telling you that your nutrients, amongst othe things, are getting out of wack. I am willing to bet that you lost quit a bit of lean muscle tissue.

Eat sensibly with 5 small meals a day. Listen to your body.
You are tired because you do not take in enough carbohydrates. Try eating this way, you may have to reduce or increase your carbs since I do not even know the basics about you.

Here is what to do. From breakfast eat about every 2.5 to 3
hours. Drink water also. Don't wait until you are thirsty.

Meal 1: Eat a smart breakfast with 2 eggs and whole grain
bread and 1 serving fruit.
Meal 2: Apple and 2 tablespoons peanut butter
Meal 3: Chicken or fish w/ a small baked potato and green
vegetables (broccoli, green beans,etc)
Meal 4: Eat your granola bar or some yogurt
Meal 5: Chicken or fish w/ lots of green vegetables

Meal 6 is an option before you go to bed. 2 slices of deli cut
turkey or chicken w/ some celery or 5 to 10 wheat
thins (whole grain). The fiber slows down the rate of digestion of the protein.

Easy measurements. Serving of fish, meat chicken is about the size of your fist. For your carbs, make a bowl or cup with one hand. What ever fits in there is one serving. Eat LOTS of green vegetables

Get regular exercise and pull your belly button in when doing abs/core work.

You may need to adjust the amounts according to your caloric needs.

Train Hard, Grow Easy.

Yes, the diet could be the issue. You need more variety in your diet! And probably more iron. Are you taking a multivitamin?
