How often do I need to change my pad daily while on my period?

Sorry, this may be a bit of a disgusting question to ask but it could be quite important to the average woman on the go.

Tomorrow I'm going out with a few friends to do things like have a walk along the coastal path and stuff. Bad thing is, I'm on my period.

Does anyone know how often I would have to change my sanitary towel? I don't want any leaks, I'll be out from 10am until late afternoon but don't want any small disasters. My period isn't heavy, sort of moderate but I really need to be careful. It is a long story but I can't use tampons for this situation.

Please could someone give me the right advice on what to do?

Thank you!

Ho often to change a sanitary napkin would vary from person to person and from the beginning of your period to the end.

So At the beginning or when it is heaviest. More often and when it is slowing down perhaps only 1 x or maybe you don't even have to change during the day.

If you are walking around, Maybe more often. Also if you sit for a while and then stand you will usually feel an increase in the flow. Really it's the same amount but because after sitting it's the first chance it may have to come out.

I'm think you could not need more than 4 for the entire day out. You will probably feel more confident if you wear shorts or whatever on your bottom which are not white, yellow, Beige or anything light coloured. Sometimes you can roll a small amount of toilet paper and place in the center of the pad so you can get a fresh start anytime you stop at a restroom. I don't like feeling anything wet down there.

Have a great Day! God Bless You, ;-)

it depends what kind of pad you are using and how heavy the flow is. I would suggest trying Always Maxi Pads because the will last for a long time and it does not matter how heavy your flow is.

Change it every 6 hours or less. i change aobut every 4 hours with max protection pads.

every 8 hours but every 4 hours on the 1st day .....

You should change it when ever you see a lot of blood on it. You could also change it when you use the bathroom just to make sure the blood doesn't leak through.
Good luck, and have fun!

It certainly is different for each person. Depends on the type of pad you use and how heavy your flow is. Take along an extra pad or two and wear something dark "just in case"

I would say every four hours. Consider that you are you going to be moving and that can bring on a heavier flow, too.

I always keep 4 or 5always ultra thins on me (try getting heavy or moderate) that usually works for me if you dont need them all then thats ok better than running out good luck

Since you are going to be walking in the summer heat and don't have a heavy flow,I would suggest once every 2hrs.

ok i havint had it yet but my bff sayez that u just kinda no when youll feel it.ok so dont worrie youll no.

I would wear a tampon....no worries about a mess!

I think that you should change it every 4hrs you say you are not that heavy right.. and you can also wear the night time pads instead of something lite. I would also wear dark shorts or something.
