Wild dreams while on vicodin?

Is it common to have really wild or intense dreams while you are taking vicodin? My orthopedic surgeon prescribed it for me after an injury and I've been on it for a week. normally my dreams are rather uneventful and I hardly remember them in the morning but lately I've had dreams about wild sex, natural disasters and last night I dreamt I had to have an MRI and they asked me to drink an entire bottle of whiskey to help enhance the image. I don't drink alchohol very often and definitely not while on this medication. Anyway I've been taking my meds according to medical directions. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience?

In short, yes, it is nothing to worry about.

Dreams, nightmares, or lack of dreaming are all common side effects of strong medicines such as vicodin and pain killers. If you are being disturbed by what you are seeing and if they are happening while awake, consult a doctor immediately and they will ween you off of it and perscribe a different medicine for the pain.
