Can you get disabilities if you had herpes while in the military?

I dont think they would consider herpes a disability as it has no direct impact on your functioning in life, plus without intentional contact with the area it is not as easily spread. plus it is something that can be controlled via drug treatment.
unless you can prove you got it from something the government made you do, i don't think you have a chance.

As far as I've heard, if you get an STD while out of the country they won't let you come back because there might now be a cure for whatever you've given yourself. But if you get it in the USA, I have no idea.

I'm not sure exactly what you are asking so I will answer all the possible questions.

Nope. You are stuck with it for life and will suffer recurring outbreaks and can pass it to your new partners. Getting herpes in the military is no different than getting it as a civilian. The military will not extend any benefits to you for this other than the usual health care offered by the military for active/reserve/retired personnel.

Actually, the answer is yes. There are many dysfunctional and strange ways that our government wastes money and that currently is one of them.
Expect that to change, though.
