When a advanced directive leaves room for interpretation, who should make the decision?

Family or doctors?

The advanced directive can have someone in the family or a friend who is appointed as medical power of attorney. Sometimes it does, sometimes not.

In any case the doctors can provide the family with information in order to make their decision, but it is ultimately up to the family.
