Does it seem odd that a person is alive and need to be fed with a tube?

a person in ohio is living off a feeding tube because there spouse says that they dont want them to die even though their advance directive states that they do not want to be incubated or tubed

what do u think

The only way they would be able not to tube this person is if it written. Other than that, the hospital should tube. I am sorry that this has happened, but the hospital is only trying to make sure they aren't sued. If it is written, the family can take the hospital to court.

Take them off.
Their spouse is being selfish and not respecting what they want.

It is in the best interest of the person receiving the tubing care. They person should not be forced to stay alive against their own will.

. Ya, it's a shame that the dying person's last wish can't be followed.
But it's the living spouse who will sue if things go wrong.
That's why you need a good lawyer to write up these 'Directives' and DNR's before you start dying.
Some ppl have been on these nasty tubes for years. Where's the Quality of Life?
