Tetanus diphtheria?

Hi.. i wwould like to ask why we need to take a shot of (td) tetanus-diphtheria?? What are the benefit of this to us?? thank you

Diptheria is a disease that used to kill millions before vaccinations. It is on the rise in countries that do not vaccinate.
