Blood in stool caused by eating red turnip?

When defecating, the red color does not dissolve into the water of the toilet but one can still sees the red color on the bottom. Wiping leaves no red color whatsoever.
Would this be a sign of blood in the Gastrointestinal tract or any where in the digestive system that is a symptom of any disease? Red Turnip was eaten several days earlier.
Thanks,

No pain experienced when not and when defecating

If after having eaten beets several days previously, you have red stool, it suggests some rectal bleeding. The most common cause would be internal hemorrhoids which might be uncomfortable but easily treatable with OTC medications. Both the blood and the beet juice would spread through the water of the toilet, if the fluid is brighter colored than beet juice, the location of the bleeder is near the anus, but the darker the color, the further up the intestinal tract. Blood from the stomach and small intestine is black and tarry. If you are overweight and do little exercise, then your bowel is less active than in others and it could still be the beet juice causing the discoloration. Hemorrhoids are usually itchy or annoying so with the absence of such discomfort, I suggest it would be the beet juice.

lol

If there was blood in the GI tract, your stool would apear black not red. When you say Red turnip, do you mean beets? The are known to give stool a redish tinge. See how you are the next time you go to the bathroom. Hope this helps.

fun huh used methyl blue for urine when I was a kid get practical joke passes through the body without harm a they would pee blue or green some dyes do that and the ones in cheap fruit punch will come out in your stool also all you are seeing is the same affect

It sounds like red turnip. Blood in the stool is suggestive of a medical condition requiring further investigation. If it doesn't go away soon then you may wish to consult with a doctor to rule out anything potentially seriousl.

nothing to serious you start to do yoga.
