Does anyone of you have inflammation of stomach lining? |
its called 'gastritis' does anyone experinced or experincing this type of stomach problem? i heard it occur cuz of heavy drinking and eating spicy food or delay of the food. i used to be heavy drinker thats what caused my stomach lining to be inflamed, i been on prescription medicine such as pepcid and prilosec, its been 3 years since i have gastritis now i am only taking prilosec in the morning. i used to get heartburn but not anymore (touchwood). but the inflammation on my stomach lining is still present, perhapes little better than before but its not completely healed, i dont drink alcohol, dont smoke, dont eat too spicy then why my gastritis is taking too long to heal? i mean does it usualy take years or does it ever heal? one of my gastrontrology told me that it will heal but will take time and i should avoid eating/drinking acidic stuff. anyway this is one of the most common digestive problem among men and women now days. so does anyone else suffering from this common disease? Hi Sam, yes Don't eat too much fruit (the acids will irritate the stomach lining) cut out tomatoes. Coffee and soda and fruit juice will irritate too. A bland diet is best for a while and there are better drugs than those for gastritis. Protonix works really well, but sometimes the dose has to be double if your stress level is up (produces more stomach acid when you are more stressed) You can heal it with plantain, a banana-like fruit which needs to be cooked. Get your protein from yogurt and whey till it does heal. it may be called refux disease and pervacid help keep it under control, you have to eat and drink the right food ,it gets better not |
