Dieting. :/?

ok so im 13 years old and im about 10 to 20 pounds overweight. whenever i go on a diet i always give in. i never have the willpower to keep on going. what can i do to actually stay with a diet for more t han 2 days? also what type of diets do 13 year olds go on?

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

slim fast

Don't bother dieting. Get outside. Get a BMX, skateboard, find something you enjoy doing. If not that, than lift weights instead of dieting. Muscle burns fat, you don't have to get all built. The more muscle you have, the more calories you will burn just doing normal stuff.

don't diet, just eat healthy and exercise. stay healthy

Don't eat anything white - white bread and potatoes are the worst. Eat all you want of fruits and vegies but do not starve yourself. Just cutting back on the bread and sugar will help. Ask your Mom to get some whole wheat bread. And sugary drinks are really a way to add too many calories, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. Exercise! Get off the computer!

I'm also 13.. think about cutting slowly.. you can make your pepsi diet, or change your cake for fruit.. but you'll see that in time, slowly, you will start to follow a stric diet.

i have the same problem.
you just need to start with the basic stuff like
just doing 20 sit up 4,5 times a week.
it's the best when you do it everyday though.
and try eating 4,5 small meals then 3 big ones
when you buy food, try pretzels instead of potato chips!
and a turkey sandwich instead of chicken!
it might seem like nothing but it will make your eating habits more healthier and on top of that, you still do your sit ups, then you'll start to see changes. little by little.

dude if you are 13 then you are not going to need to diet. your body is not going to react to anything other than exercise. just get off of the couch and run around the block. that will help you more than anything. if you really are 13 then you should be able to eat what ever you want. introduce some cardiovascular into your life and you will be fine. there is no better time than now at 13 for you to understand that there is no easy fix. exercise is your best option. and please carry it with you for the rest of your life. it will only benefit you.

i remember back when i was 13 i wasn't overweight (i have a tiny frame) but i wanted to lose some of my chubbyness..

what i did was i assigned each food (rather.. snacks) that i ate regularly a certain amount of points.

then i typed those out and put them on the fridge as a constant reminder.

after that, i assigned a point value that i wasn't allowed to go over in a week.. like 30 points.

you can either tally the points you spend or make little slips of paper and put them in a jar or something.. but tallying them is easier.

if you don't have very good self-control.. this may not work.. but i ended up losing a TON of chub.. haha.

*drinking LOTS OF WATER helps out and...

look in seventeen magazine for workout routines.. they work miricles!!

dont eat too much butter ,o and dont think about your weight .........and your see the differences, and do it with your heart :>

Dieting is not always the answer. I would suggest that you change your eating habits. Try eating healthy things.
Basically so NO to ALL TAKEAWAYS. There have been some interesting programs on TV lately on this matter and they should be helpful to you. Starting is alway the hardest, get through one week at a time.
Write down everything ( and I means everything you eat. then analyse what you have written, this will help you to check on what you are eating .
Good Luck

Just stay active and exercise, you'll shred the weight off
