Why does the label on whole foods brand chocolate soy protein powder mix say "DO NOT USE for weight loss" |
i have read that soy protein is good to use for weight loss and i was wondering why it would say this? the product is simply stating that it is not intended specifically for weight loss. it is a protein supplement to help people get more protein in their diets. its in no way, shape or form intended to help you lose weight in any way because as with any food, eating too much of it will not produce weight loss results and could even produce weight gain. the reason people say its good for weight loss is because they are assuming you aren't eating too much of it and are mixing it with healthy substances (fruit/low fat yogurt/skim milk) rather than picking up a big mac or a milk shake at mcdonalds for lunch. Cause soy is good for weight loss, but protein is great for muscle...muscle weighs more then fat...so if you take this protein powder you will build alot more muscle...you won't lose weight... It's not meant as a meal-replacement, like Slim-Fast. That's all that means. If that was all you drank all day, you would not be eating a nutrient complete diet. |
