What do dietary fiber do to your body?

anyone

Dietary fiber helps your body move food through your intestines... it basically works like a broom to sweep stuff that is sticking to the inside walls of your colon, so that it can be eliminated easily (this is important so that you can eliminate more fully, and avoid problems like constipation, diverticulitis, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and, yes, cancer.

Many vegetables and fruit provide necessary fiber, and, additionally, you can add fiber by grinding flax seed and eating 3 tablespoons or so sprinkled on our food, or on cereals, or even as a part of a smoothie (it gives a nutty flavor, and also provides Omega 3 fats, which are necessary for good cell health), or by adding psyllium husk powder to the diet (this can be used as a thickening agent in many recipes, or simply drunk mixed in juice or water)
