Does the new "Food Guide Pyramid" suck or what? |
Take a look at the new Food Guide Pyramid, put out by the government. It STILL has us loading up on carbs and restricting protein and fats. This is a DISASTER waiting to happen, especially for males. The government has pushing this for years, and yet they tell us that Americans are fatter than ever. Well when you take the whole diet into consideration, carbs should amount to 50-60% of it!!! The new pyramid emphasizes carbohydrates in the form of whole grains, fruits, and vegetables, not cakes and cookies and refined flour. This is what the diet should mostly consist of. Proteins and fats together only comprise about 40% of our diets and should be lean protein and the healthy monunsaturated fat (avocados, peanut butter etc). I did like the Food Guide Pyramid better than MyPyramid because it looks less confusing, but I completly agree with the new one. It is not telling us to restrict protein and fat and load up on "bad" carbs. It is telling us to eat whole grain carbs full of fiber and protein and fat in the right balance. If we ate more fat and protein than carbs our body would not have immediate sources of energy................I think you might want to look into it. Actually, its funny, because they wasted all that time thinking of new updates for the food pyramid even though no one gives a crap about nutrition these days. Some do some dont. Majority dont care. *Cough* I Dont Give A Crap About It.. *Cough* Eating Healthy is essential. The Food Pyramid is just a guide. I agree with the person asking the question. The pyramid emphasizes whole grains and vegetables the most. These are GOOD things. Americans eat way too much protein. We only need a certain amount. |

Eh, NO products have generally said to be scams. Most whey protein powders are the same. So I'd say take it back and go with something cheaper and more trusted. Usually, I don't trust... |
