Diarrhea - Imodium Question? |
So last Saturday I had a bout of diarrhea in the morning and so I took Imodium for the first time. And about a week later the diarrhea came back in the morning then went away...then I had normal bowel movements and then it came back this morning. Persistant diarrhea is a symptom of an underlying disease. The Imodium would have been out of your system in a few hours, so it did not keep you diarrhea free for a week. well it is suumer, could you have eaten anything that made you sick? Have you been exposed to anyone that may have given you something. the imodium is not your problem Sorry for this but "who gives a shite?", real answer... the body is a wonderfull product and will heal itself unless the reason is something more serious and then Imodium might mask the problem... most preparations state "if it persists consult a doctor"... sound advice Well, do you know what caused the original diarrhea? If it was something you ate that irritated you, then yes, the original offending poop is still going to be inside you, as the immodium only slows down gut movement, it doesn't cure the problem (ie fix tainted food). It may be that your insides need time to get back to normal after being slowed down by a drug. |
