Diarrhea Due To Whey Protein?

For gaining muscle...i need to be taking some protein shakes. i am doing just that with the powder. i weigh 130lbs therefore need 130 grams daily of protein.

the whey protein powder im using is 25grams of protein per serving. So im planning on doing 5 shakes a day.

But...about a year ago... when i attempted the very same thing, i got diarrhea due to taking these shakes. i guess my body cant handle that much protein?

im just afraid it will happen again. Once even slight bleeding occured with the diarrhea. but that was just once.

so what can i do to prevent this this time around? or is it something that my body will just get used to after a few days of taking these shakes and working out?

*** Should every protein shake be consumed with some food? maybe thats it?

Yeah, it is just the shakes causing the diarrhea. If you drank that many shakes a day, it would cause diarrhea, even without the whey protein in them. Start with one shake a day and gradually work your way up.

Remember that supplements are supposed to do exactly that: supplement your meals. For every shake you take, you should be eating at least one full meal.

are you drinking enough water? I am on a high protein diet after being a vegetarian for 5 years and getting very little protein. I drink about a gallon of water every day , that will help you digest the protein. also make sure you eat enough veggies that will help. oh and I'm getting my protein from 6 meals per day poultry fish and egg whites along with one nitotech shake by muscletech, it has 45g protein per can I drink post workout

fruit and veggie diet better , skip protean , but consume some .
