Diaper rash with clear liquid coming out of it...? |
My daughter has diaper rash and it has a clear liquid leaking from it. I was letting her bottom air dry before I put her diaper on and some diaper rash ointment. It looks really bad..can any other mothers tell me what this liquid is? I'm a first time mom and new at this. sorry Dads too. I just don't know very many dads that do diaper change. The poor baby, and poor you. That wee darling must be in pain. The liquid is normal fluid, kind of like what weeps out after a blister or a burn. If the rash is that bad, please take her to the doctors. It could be yeast. Air dry is fine, as well as using something thick like A&D ointment to create a barrier. Make sure her little bum is clean and dry, and apply the ointment liberally all over, and in the folds. I would take her to the doctors. She could be having a reaction to a food or medication. My son had diaper rash so bad it would bleed, and even with the doctor prescribed medication it didn't go away. Until we figured out he couldn't stomach milk. Ok, you taught me not to eat breakfast while reading Answers. Hey...hey..hey....I'm a dad...and familiar with that rash stuff too....It could be your child is allergic to the brand of diaper you're using ...or the soap you're bathing her with.....try switching them and see the results. Rashes are common in babies because their immune system is still developing. If it remains serious then see her pediatrician and you may need to get a prescription medication. See??? Us dads know a thing or two! call your child's pediatrician! I've never had that with either of my kids. It might not be serious, but you should call and ask about it. Many offices have a nurse on staff who can answer your questions over the phone. It sounds like she has a bad rash and it is weeping what I've always called "skin water". Airing it out is a good idea, but you probably need to see the doctor if it doesn't clear up in a day. It may be a yeast infection (especially if she's been on an antibiotic lately) and the doctor can prescribe something to treat the yeast and the rash will clear right up. Good luck, and try not to feel too bad!! Call your pediatrician, I've never heard of a clear liquid coming out of a rash. Something is wrong! your going to make me thow up (blaaaaaaaa!) |
