Is it a bad diaper rash or worse? |
My step-daughter is 3. When she returns from her Mother's house, I bathe her and get her ready for bed. Every time she returns, she has a large red rash on her bottom and genital area. Lately, she has been complaining of pain and burning where the rash seems to be. The rash also includes swelling on her private area. Is this just a diaper rash or something worse? Take her immediately to the Dr. when she first comes home so the Dr. can see it at its worse. Prayerfully that's all it is, is a diaper rash from neglect and nothing more....that's bad enough. Don't say anything about what you suspect to the Dr. Just tell them she just came back from her mother's house, let them come to their own conclusion but do take her to the Dr. http://familydoctor.org/online/famdocen/... It may be a yeast infection and that requires prescription ointments. Take her to her pediatrician. The poor little thing must be miserable!!! she could be in an unchanged diaper for too long. Sometimes the feces if left for awhile, may be too acidic and burn the area. Desitin cream may help, but do phone her pediatrician office with the immediate symptoms. |
