What works good for diaper rash? |
Myu son has diaper rash from his luvs diapers. I switched diapers, and have tried desitin balmex and vaseline, but i'm having a hard time getting rid of it. well lady i am 48 and i have to wear diapers and i get a diaper rash to. The best thing you can do it to take the diapers off of him and give him a bath in hot water them let me in a room or some place that he can leave the diaper off for abour 2 hours and then put on diaper rash cream really really thin so if feels dry to tich it in about 36 hours it will be gone !! Let him be without a diaper as much as you can. Like i said I know because i get diaper rash my self!! hope this helps ya!!! PS by the way did i win...did i win...did i win??? make sure the skin is totally dry before applying "a & d ointment", or "butt paste" baby powder I've also had limited luck with those ointments, the one that worked really well for me was A+D, (the store brand version worked just as well). One of the best old things is................ corn starch......... it works. I use Desitin on my kids. If it's a bad rash, with sores, that's probably a yeast infection. If it's that bad, put on a little athlete's foot cream on his butt 3 times a day. Thats what my pediatrician told me to do. sudocream!...dont use vaseline, it will stop the nappie from working effectively because it is water resistant and the urine wont get absorbed if the nappy has vaseline on it! I have used Aquaphor on my son since birth. It is petroleum-jelly based, but is thicker than plain Vaseline, so it sticks to the kid really well. It also is medicated to help heal the rash. I tried Desitin and Boudreax's Butt Paste, and they were so thick that applying the cream actually hurt him! Stop using baby wipes for a day or so, too, b/c the cleansers in them can acually make the rash worse, and change him OFTEN, like every 1 1/2-2 hrs, to keep him nice and dry. If you can, let him air out for a while b/w diapers. And you might also reasses his beverage consumption. Excess fruit or juice can increase the acidity of urine, leading to diaper rash. Try giving him plain water and milk for a day. Zinc oxide. |

Yes, both of my children usually got rashy after being on antibiotics, especially if they had any antibiotic related diarrhea as well. Unfortunately, there's not much more that you can do for... Just make sure the area is clean and dry. And sure, try some A&D ointment (as opposed to Desitin); it should help clear it up in a couple of days. If not, make an appointment with the ped... Hope ... Did she have chicken pox vaccination? Is she allergic to any foods? That looks like hives to me which indicates there's a reaction to something going on. Did she eat something that she does... A&D ointment is really good. But since it's been so long you might want to take a trip to the pediatrician, just to safe. Good luck! ...Find a good probiotic like Primadohphilus Bifidus or Reuteri, as your eczema may be a symtom of a leaky gut. This has helped numerous sufferers including babies.
