Ways to get rid of my, well..."Diaper rash" @ age 16? |
Well, i got on birth control, and it made me have a super light period for 2 weeks straight. I used pantyliners to control the bleeding and it worked great, but toward the end it felt very tingly and rather itchy down there. I asked my mom, and after laughing at me, she explained that what i had was diaper rash. She suggested baby powder, that didnt really work though. im on the shot, not the oill, a longer period is a normal thing, but it still sucks Try some of the creams and ointments used for diaper rash like desetin or a&d ointment. Going commando is a good idea, too. Maybe you should use a tampon instead of a pad or panty liners. Maybe you just have very sensitive skin. Scented feminine products can cause this, too. If all that fails and it seems to be an ongoing problem, you should talk to your doctor next time you go in. you need to get some cream or something for it... That sounds more like an allergic reaction. Have you tried taking Benadryl? I would start there and see if it helps. Also, keep the area dry and whenever possible don't wear underwear because that is just irritating it. Try a different brand of pantyliner. You might be allergic to the one you're using now. It could be yeast. Birth Control can sometimes be too strong and cause this irritation. You can get the cream for the outside as well as the inside...if its from the pantyliner rubbing on you you can get diaper rash cream or use Vaseline for protection.. Also the irritation can be an STD...id check with your doctor if the above doesn't help Everyone else has great idea's re: the irritation. I would suggest trying a different panti-liner and taking some benadryl asap. I am concerned that you are on the pill and are having your period for two weeks, and then again in just one more week. That doesn't sound normal to me. You may want to make an appointment to discuss that with the Dr. If you are wearing your pad to long, you could have an irritation, baby powder will make it worse. Go to the drug store and get some Desitin. Babies use it for rashes. It may be something else. You say it itches, you may try some hydrocortizone cream, (find this at the drug store as well), not the clear kind, make sure it says cream, this will help with itch. If it goes on for more than 2 weeks, you need to see your gynecologist. Try the super-light tampons. Otherwise, it might be because of the chafing of the pantiliner on your vaginal area. I know it sounds silly, but try old-people diapers (the really thin ones) instead of undies w/ pantiliners-- that will eliminate the chafing. get some diaper rast cream! It works wonders on rashes. |

I agree with the others. Desitin usually works. But if it isn't, it might be what he's eating and the diaper itself. Too much apple juice can cause diarrhea in some infants. My son could ... try and keep the diaper off as much as possible or change very regularly. Get a good probiotic like Primadophilus reuteri to add back the good bacteria the antibiotics killed. (helath food shop/... Boil some chamomile tea bags let them cool and place them on the worst spots. He will love it the chamomile will sooth his skin and also shrink the rash. It will feel very good to him. ...okey doke. if youve tried it already, then ignore me;) try a combo of A&D ointment and Desitin. FYI, Desitin comes in two varieties, but most people don't know. one kind has 10 % zinc oxid... dab area with mylanta to neurtralize the acid from urine. rinse the baby with water no soap on the diaper area let skin dry apply small amout of vaseline to prevent urine from touching the s... YES. a good zinc oxide cream works. you can also try Gold Bond Medicated powder. These all seem too work well for me. ...This is a good website....it might answer other questions you might have. ...Forget about all that cortizone, balmex and all the other crap...use simple Cornstarch. Works every time. ... |
