I need a really GOOD cure for diaper rash.? |
My poor little grandson has a really bad case of diaper rash, to the point he screams when he wets. If any of you have ideas, I'm open to suggestions. I feel so sorry for him. I agree with the others. Desitin usually works. But if it isn't, it might be what he's eating and the diaper itself. Too much apple juice can cause diarrhea in some infants. My son could not drink it straight. It would give him diarrhea and then, the diaper rash. I always had to mix the juice with water or another juice. Secondly, the baby might be allergic to his diapers. Try changing brands. Good luck, Grandma!! go to the pharmacy and ask for Ammens Powder, best on the market!!!!!! Desitin. Can only get from medical doctor. Desitin, and it has been available over the counter ever since I can remember. Put a thick coat of Desitin on and then sprinkle pure corn starch over that real good. Yes, corn starch. It will help keep wetness away. Corn starch also works wonders on heat rash. #1 do not use wipes anymore for a while unless he has a HUGE poopie. The wipes just irritate the baby's skin. Use a warm washcloth to clean him. #2 Put cornstarch powder on the effected areas getting in between the crevices and folds. This sould dry up the rash and help heal the soreness. #3 let him go without a diaper occasionally so he can air out. GOOD LUCK desitin ointment sprinkled with caldesene powder. caldesene powder may be difficult to find. it comes in a pink canister like baby powder and is a little pricey, but totally worth it. this is an amazing cure. i promise you will be amazed. Yep, desitin works wonders. Balmex - its like desitin but i've found that it actually works better and quicker then desitin to clear up a babies diaper rash. Mary Kay extra emollient night cream. Vitamin D, in the ointment form, found in the baby aisle. I saw this recipe on a health show a few years ago, it was created by a Pediatrician, Dr. Alex Casler. It's called "But Paste". I find it amazing that you obviously have at least one child since you have a grandson, and the grandson himself and you don't know how to get rid of diaper rash? I'm glad I wasn't your child. A&D Ointment and/or cornstarch baths. I work in pediatrics... this is what we always do. Has he been on antibiotics? If yes, this could be a yeast infection. Leave his diaper off as much as possible and see a physician. |
