Help my 10 month daughter has a major diaper rash .?

My daughter has had her rash for over 2 weeks. I tried store bought ointment ,corn starch , i try to change her every 2 hrs . Nothing seems to work!!! PLEASE someone help me!! Its looking bad. Plus ever time she does num 2 i looks reder no matter how fast i change it. Someone told me let her run naked, but thats going to be a mess. She can't even sit in the tube without scratching .

my sons got really bad once. it looked like he had skinned his bum (like skinning your knee)

the best thing to do (according to my doc) is to let them air out. its messy sometimes, but to help them, its worth it.

try bag balm. it is found (most likely) with the animal stuff at a store like walmart. its for udders on a cow when they get chaffed. there is some kind of medicine in it. my ped. recommended it, it worked so bad.
his worst diaper rash only took a day or two to clear up with the stuff.

bag balm.. its in a little green tin. its expensive, but it lasts a long time.
slather the stuff on generously.

wow, did i actually say it worked so bad? i meant it worked so well. bag balm is amazing.
i thought he had a yeast infection, like people were saying, but i called to check it out and after using the bag balm it was gone so quickly. i swear by it now. its amazing stuff. Report It

Sounds like it might be a yeast infection and not diaper rash. Have you tried using an antifungal cream on it. Diaper rash doesn't itch but a yeast infection does. Try athletes foot cream, jock itch cream or vaginal yeast cream on it. They all work the same.

Take her to the pediatrcian tommorow. They will prescribe something now. In the future after day 1 call the dr. :)

put some plan yogurt on her bottom, I know it sounds weird but it may actually be a yeast infection instead of a diaper rash now. My daughter used to get them at 9 months old and it didnt stop until she was out of the diaper almost. Yogurt has a yeast in it that helps with bodies natural defense system

BRING HER TO YOUR PEDIATRICIAN.NOW!!!!!!!!!!

This should help.

DEAR BUY SOMETHING IN OIL FORM TO SELLING IN THE MOISTER BABY OIL BABY LOTION SOME THING LIKE THIS THEY HAVE A THING CALLED BUT PASTE LOOK FOR IT IN THE BABY AISLE OF THE STORE OK TAKE CARE

It's possible that she is allergic to something she has ate or drank.Sometimes the acid in juice can cause a diaper rash.Because you don't know the exact cause, if you are giving orange juice or something with a lot of acid, discontinue giving it to her for a couple days and keep using desitin .If that's the problem it should go away.If not take her to see a doctor.

Sounds like it could be a yeast infection and not a diaper rash. It's only going to get worse without the help of a doctor, and you probably don't want to get in trouble for child neglect by letting it keep going on and on and not doing anything about it.

Take her to the health dept or to her pediatrician ASAP. In the meantime, keep her clean and if possible let her be bottomless from time to time to air out.

Make sure you get the old ointment off before you apply more. Ointment hanging around usually isn't a problem as we tend to apply a moderate amount for every day. But if a rash gets worse, the ointment gets slathered on and sits there. Layer after layer blocks the air to the skin. So clean it off with a warm wipe or soapy washcloth. And let her run naked. --Infant Daycare Worker

The best thing to use is A&D ointment found in any grocery store. It will clear the rash up over night.

I always combined good ol fashioned nudity with oatmeal baths. It's a natural, safe (albeit a little messy) way to allow the body to heal itself. I also recommend bag balm, very good. Also, read online about baby powder/cornstarch. Some research suggests that the use of those items on infant females seems to be a precursor to some female reproductive area cancers.

Okay for the rash, you need to dry it, apply " DESITIN OINTMENT" it comes in a tube with dark blue letters and it comes in a box like a toothpaste. It will dry the skin and will not burn the baby's skin when you apply it.
Now sprinkle some baby powder that has starch,(Desitin or Johnson and Johnson are good brands for this)
Now to calm your baby during this painful ordeal, depending on your childs weight try to by some liquid BENEDRYLE" spelled wrong.
Now to get rid of the rash you need to buy some CLOTH diapers and be sure they are 100 percent cotton. fold them up to look like a triangle and use some safety clips, prefer some that are made for babys. DO NOT add any plastic over these diapers. The reason is your babies skin needs to breath. Keep checking on these cloth diapers every time after a meal or a drink . and check on them every 2 or 3 hours as needed.
too cool your babies skin depending on where you live if the weather is hot, and when she is asleep, let her be naked with a cool fan it will sooth her rash just for a few minutes maby 15 minutes. Depending if you want that and on your religion.
Next, to prevent that from occuring more.
Alternate, plastic diaper, cloth diaper. and as for baby wipes:
Use JOHNSON AND JOHNSON brand they are milder than most other ones. (tested it out when I cut a finger to wipe it I used 2 other brands and then I used Johnson and Johnson. It burned less).
To clean those cloth diapers. Take the stool and dump it in the toilet and get rid as much of it, then go out in your back yard with the water hose and connect a high pressure connecter to it , the stream should get rid of most of the stool, then do the same with the urine diapers, now dump them in the washer with COLD water. and use 2 cups of powder soap, DREFT brand is good. or use the liquid version use 2 of the lids instead of the cups. and it will make them white again. Do not use hot water as it will set the stains in you want the stains out so use cold water. DONOT use bleach as some can be left behind on the diaper and irritate your babies skin....
Your baby should be better in 4 to 7 days.
Note: remember if your child is taking amoxilin or pennicilin for longer than 10 days, it will kill your babies own bacteria, thus giving your baby a rash, when you stop the antiobiotic the rash will go away, this does not mean your baby is allergic to the antibiotic.

Dermaplast..it comes in a spray can..GREAT stuff. spray it on her..let her go without her diaper as much as you can and when she has to be in a diaper for a long time..use lots of zinc oxide...oh! dont let it go to far it could be a yeast infection. They gave my son soome ointment called Nyastat I think..just dont let it get too bad...good luck

We tried everything but the best thing was honey, bit messy but works.goodluck
